| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 22, 2008 Golden-brown colour. Big nose - wood, deep chewy and dark sugary malts. Fruits are slightly caramelized. The body is a little to the soft side, sugary, with a light alcohol finish. Burnt fruits come in...a little simple for a beer this size, IMO. bfeldmann (1042), Wilmington, Delaware, USA

Aroma was oaky dark fruits and something else. Flavor was much the same, vanilla oak was strong and lots of fruits. Good beer.

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 28, 2008 Bottle: The aroma is a nice combination of apple pie, cherries, light caramel, chocolate, yeast, cinnamon, and faint alcohol. It pours a transparent brown with a moderate beige head. Lots of chocolate and caramel up front. There is some faint apple pie and cinnamon flavors in the background. It’s medium bodied with soft carbonation. Very tasty, but Abbey Dubbel? Only because the label says so I guess. miketd (679), Cleveland, Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 23, 2008 Pour is mahogany with purple highlights. No head at all. Aroma of perfume, flowers and sour fruit. A sweet sour fruit taste as well. Has a bit of heat to it also. Medium bodied and smooth. crizay (1050), Brook Park (was Tampa,FL), Ohio, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 21, 2008 Thanks to kyzr. Dark mahogany with zero head. Aroma is sour, brandy barrel and raisens. Flavor is sour, raisens and prunes. Some brandy barrel sweetness, tart & sour but balanced with some apples and light fruits. A touch of chocolate and roastiness. But mainly sour with light fruits, raisens, a touch of oak and brandy. It seems with the other reviews they have bottling issues but it was still good.
