| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 23, 2004 Medium white head atop a sparkling apple juice body. Aroma is fairly sweet, oatmeal raisin cookie, light grassy. Taste is sweet, fruity, tart lemon, some bready, mild grassy. Light body. Very much a summer-time beer. Just not really up my alley. hopdog (5604), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 14, 2004 Pours a clear clean golden with a puffy, thin-lacing, white head. Has a lightly fruity lager yeast aroma with a touch of adjuncts. Body is mild with some corny sweetness and a bland, faintly hoppy finish. Could use much more balance and complexity to live up to its style, but still drinkable. JPDIPSO (4922), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA

| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Sep 9, 2005 Head is initially small, fizzy/frothy, white, mostly diminishing.
Body is clear medium yellow.
Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly hoppy (flowers), with a note of lemon peel.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter, husky.
Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
The commercial description doesn’t say this uses wheat, but it sure seems to be a textbook American Wheat to me. Not much in the nose, watery, thin, grainy/husky aftertaste. Not my first choice for a light summer quaffer (pass me that Reno’s Retirement, please). muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA
| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 4/20 | Mar 15, 2005 12 oz bottle. Light, very clear gold with a lasting white foamy top...minimal VERY sweet caramel nose with a twinge of grass, a bit noxious...sweet, artificial candyish initical flavor, some ok malt in the middle, rather spoiled lactic quality late...awful metallic finish. This bottle may well have been too old, but with no dating on, nor anything to even indicate that it was a fragile kolsch...hell, it’s the brewer’s responsibility, not mine!
