Commercial Description:
This big, rich IPA features Simcoe hops which give it both a fruity, piney hop nose and a clean, ringing bitterness. IN-between, the malt flavor is slightly caramel for a touch of malt sweetness. This IPA is well-balanced and very expressive with hops.

Bottle thanks to Douglas88! The color is dark amber, darker than some other IPAs out there. It is an overall solid IPA, well balanced and easy to drink. Has a good amount of bitterness with a clean crisp finish. I really enjoyed this brew, better than I expected. I

Amber pour with a thin white head. Citrus on the nose. Citrus and some malt in flavor with a bitter finish.

Copper color with a small frothy head. Grassy and citrus hops on the nose. The grassiness comes through great on the flavor. It’s really smooth with really caramel sweet malts. It’s leaves a really pleasant mark on the tongue. There are definitely a lot of things going on in the flavor, and I can’t figure them all out. Really excellent brew.

This IPA smells like hops, and why shouldn’t it? The best part is that the hop aroma was very grassy, citrusy, and floral. The sort of thing you would come to expect from a very cascade heavy ale. However surprise comes when you taste this very nice beer, the beer is remarkably hoppy, and very nicely bitter, to my knowledge I’ve never had a beer that featured Simcoe hops, but I quite like their flavor, very dry and bitter with the faintest pleasantries of citrus. This one was a good surprise.

Wow, this one really took my by surprise. Pours a deep, golden brown with an awesome lingering off-white head. Big hoppy nose - mostly floral and spicy. The flavor is equally impressive, with some citrus hops coming into the picture. Solid malt backbone keeps the hop bitterness very manageable. The mouthfeel is creamy and smooth without being too heavy, still a very refreshing beer. Although there are IPAs out there with better individual characteristics, few are as balanced, and come together as well as this one does. A very good brew.

Acquired via trade with OSLO, thanks buddy. 12oz bottle pours clear deep copper with bumpy nearly frothy tan head. The aroma holds both grapefruit hops and tangelo sweetness along with sweet malts and mildly roasted malts. Sort of on the light side but an inviting aroma nonetheless. The taste is much the same with grapefruit and tangelo notes mixing with sweet malts and also carrying late addition to the boil hop flavors. So the hop bitterness isn’t over the top and in fact a bit subdued for the style but still grows nicely into the finish. Rock solid IPA with a tasty malt backbone.

Judging from previous reviews I have to conclude there’s no account for tastes. As for me, this is the IPA I’ve been looking for—every bit as fine as my first IPA years ago. And it’s the first real thrill I’ve had tasting a new brew since then—making Big Sky IPA for me literally "one in thousands". It’s not your father’s yellow beer, and light beer drinkers may want to dilute it with equal parts of seltzer water.

The description is wrong, it is neither big nor rich. Pours caramel with a one finger head. Faint hop scent. Tastes mostly like water with an earthy aftertaste. There’s a bit of citrus hops in the finish. Meh. Let’s just say i’m surprised this IPA made the jounry to kenosha from Montana,. It wouldn’t make it to India.
