| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Nov 1, 2009 Maybe it was the mood I was in but this was one really damn good IPA. Maybe with all the stouts I’ve been sucking down, I was hankerin’ for some hoppage and this delivered that fix for sure. The beer pours out a dark amber color, clear with a creamy light tan head, beautiful lacing and some nice staying power. Aroma has enough hop character to really satisfy my needs with a strong piney punch, followed up with a floral/sweet caramel note. Flavor is really something to enjoy. A near perfect blend of juicy hops and a toasted/caramel malts. Really a damn good job with the balance. The mouthfeel on this beer is so damn silky smooth, it borders on an oatmeal stout thickness. Just a chewy goodness that I really enjoyed. A sixer of this will do me fine tonight while watching the WS. Damn good IPA. bsp77 (202), Minnesota, USA

Clear orange-amber with a frothy white head and very nice lacing.
Aroma of sweet toasted malts and citrus hops. Some pine as well.
Much more hoppy and bitter than the smell indicates. Pine and citrus hops with a ever-so-slightly sweet toasted malt counterbalance. Finishes very bitter, which lasts and lasts.
Moderate carbonation, medium body, very dry finish.
Excellent IPA all around. Nice sipper but hard to have too many.
