Commercial Description:
This big, rich IPA features Simcoe hops which give it both a fruity, piney hop nose and a clean, ringing bitterness. IN-between, the malt flavor is slightly caramel for a touch of malt sweetness. This IPA is well-balanced and very expressive with hops.

Aroma hits you strong before anything else. Lots of barley - you can smell it from far away. Hop head heaven. Too bitter for me, but a strong representation for the style.

on tap at the Iron Horse Brew Pub in Missoula, Montana. A solid IPA... deep golden / amber color with a 1/4" head. Crisp with an average level of hops. Citrusy on the nose and slightly bitter through the finish. Overall, it could be a bit more aggressive, but that is my personal love of hops coming through. For the average IPA, it is one of the best.

2008 Bottle - Citrus and pine aroma, tastes of grains, yeast and hop flowers, very bitter on the end, decent but not great, kinda one dimensional...

12 oz bottle. Clear amber with a pocked bone head. Nose is orange, grapefruit pith and grass. Crisp and resiny with a bready finish. Taste is grapefruit with some tangerine and toffee but mostly bitter.

12oz bottle. Deep orange color, white rocky head. Pleasant florals and citrus hop aromas. Flavor of bread, caramel, malt. Very well balanced. Hoppy IPA. Good long lasting bitterness. Great hop flavors. A chewier hopped version of Scape Goat. I love those Simcoes!

Appearance: Pours a lightly hazy, amber body with a short-lived, skimpy white head. Smell: Piney, citrus hop scent with some pale malts floating around in there. Taste: Pale malts, though no real sweetness. Instead, we jump right into the pine, citrus hop flavors with a medium bitterness. Lightly bitter finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Drinkability: A decent, well-balanced IPA.

Pours amber with a thin white head. Huge juicy hop and citrus aroma. Flavor citrusy and piny hops, caramel malts, orange peel. Finishes a bit thin, but very drinkable. Thanks to jake65 for this one!

Pours a nice amber color with small white foamy head. Aromas of citrus, pine, and resin. Flavors of pine and sweet malt. Nice finish with a good hop bite at the end. Very drinkable.
