Strong aromas of pine, flowers, dark and rich caramel malt, and juicy sweet orange. In the mouth there’s a bit of caramel and bready malts, but the main focus is on the very piney hops. Some notes of cut grass are also apparent. Medium bodied with a nice drying finish. A bit ho-hum, but a well executed IPA nonetheless. jmcguire1969 (149), Lafayette, Colorado, USA

I wasn’t sure what to expect from this brewery but was pleasantly surprised. This is a full bodied, beauty. Close your eyes and give this one a sniff and you’ll think your hiking in the forrest...this is one piney mofo!! Taste is great...good hop, malt, bitterness balance. A slight soapy after taste is the only thing that takes away from this...not sure if it’s my glass or if they left this one in the fermenter too long. There’s some suspended particles and not sure what they are so this may have been on the shelf too long. incutrav (576), Woodbury, Minnesota, USA

Poured a rich looking deep amber-orange ale in the glass with a puffy, stickey meringue cap that stacks and lasts...laces the glass well.
Glorious Pac-NW nose: Grapefruit, pine and sweet malts.
Medium body... juicy mouth feel...fruity-resiny character...well balanced.
Big malts in the front are then flooded with juicy citrus and cedar cascade hop tastes..well balanced fruity tastes ride on a substantial caramelized malt spine...finishes with moderate bittereing and caramel tastes..delicious!
Incredible balance in a big hopped APA...totally hides its alcohol and so is warming and smooth.
I saw one comment here that said this was "as standard as it gets"..but I think ,far from being standard, this is as good as it gets in defining the Pacific NW APA and if there is anything "standard" about the big juicy APA it’s that this is the standard others should follow.

Smacking citrus flavors of orange, with some pineapple shades. Light crunchy malt cereals. Medium body, crisp and quenching. As standard as standard gets.
