| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Apr 20, 2008 I picked up a six pack of this at the Co-op in Boise, ID. Most of the beers were full of diacetyl. This was like taking a sip of buttered popcorn. Did have one bottle that wasn’t bad, but it was still overly astringent, unbalanced, and tasted like it was full of adjunct ingredients. I have to agree with the last rater who said it could actually be used to slay trout by serving it to them, rather than drinking the product yourself. esjaygee (1581), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Apr 20, 2008 Pale yellow with thin white head. Aroma of honey and corn, taste is more of the same and some lemon. Sure doesn’t seem like a wheat beer to me. Bland, astringent finish. Perhaps the bottle would better be served to actually slay trout by throwing than by drinking what is inside. islay (481), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 19, 2008 12 oz. bottle, consumed on 4-12-08. "Beery," surprisingly hoppy, grassy aroma. Pours an effervescent pale gold with a small amount of white head. Produces good lacing. Hoppy, bitter taste. It’s remarkable that a wheat ale is this bitter, though there is some underlying sweetness. Black pepper flavor. Medium body. Lively in the palate. Trout Slayer is not a bad summer refresher, but it’s simplistic and not exactly my kind of beer. VitaminR (444), Colorado, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Apr 18, 2008 Peppery and slight floral nose. Yellow gold with slight haze. not much sweetness, almost slightly sour in the bitterness. Not terribly balanced. Bubbly and thin, not much finish. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Apr 13, 2008 Bottled. Clear orange amber colour with no real head or lacing. Aroma is citrus, wheat and hints of yeast. Pleasant. Crisp, hoppy flavour with no bitterness and a clean finish. Nice wheat, easy to drink. FlyingSwine (170), Littleton, Colorado, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Apr 12, 2008 Pours a clear amber, with a small white head and tons of carbonation. Smells a bit rancid, like an overripe Granny Smith apple. Flavor is light, and mostly yeast. Palate is thin and watery. Overall, and uninteresting, uninspired brew.
