| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 23, 2009 Pours cola brown with a small head and no lacing. Aroma is chocolate, whole-leaf tobacco, very mild lemon notes, and slight cherry. Flavor is very reflective of the aroma, in the same order, but with a roasted nutty section folowing, and a dry finish. Palate just a hair thin. A very nice dry brown ale that avoids becoming too similar to a porter as many American brown ales do. Hudspart (374), Hudsonville, Michigan, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 19, 2009 Decent drown ale. Very easy drinking. Can’t remember much else though as I was overserved the night I drank it. thegreenrooster (1846), St.louis, Missouri, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 17, 2009 Pour is a dark brown with a large tan head. Aroma is a large sweetness with some caramel malt. Flavor is some roasted malt with a nuttyness left on the tounge after the swallow. Its ok for a brown but still its a brown ale and this is not a style that is going to wow you at every chance. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 14, 2009 Pors a nice clear reddish brown with a small head and some lace. The aroma is plummy and nutty and mildly malty sweet. The flavor has plety nof caramel and a little booze with some good nuttiness, a little iced tea chracter and some hop bitterness. Overall not one of the stronger offerings from Big Sky, howerver it might just be because I don’t really like brown ales. Eh, it’s drinkable! jbye4334 (719), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 13, 2009 (bottle from Platte Ave Liqour in Colorado Springs). Pours a dark brown color. Good clarity. Medium size tan head. Aroma of roasted malt and wood. Roasted malt flavor. Somewhat astringent finish. Good lacing. Moderate carbonation. zombywoof (362), Shawnee, Kansas, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 4, 2009 Aroma of rye bread and coffee with a hint of wood and spice. Dry astringent character with a gentle chocolate quality. Nice balance between sweet and bitter with a subtle hint of hops. Brown ales tend to be pretty middle of the road but I really like this one. Thanks to Scott A. a home brewer of my acquaintance for recommending this.
