Commercial Description:
Moose Drool is our Brown Ale. Far and away the best selling beer brewed in Montana, Moose Drool is chocolate brown in color with a creamy texture. Our brown ale is a malty beer with just enough hop presence to keep it from being too sweet. The aroma also mostly comes from the malt with a hint of spiciness being added by the hops. Moose Drool is brewed with pale, caramel, chocolate, and whole black malts; and Kent Goldings, Liberty, and Willamette hops. It has an original gravity of 13 degrees Plato, and is 4.2% alcohol by weight, 5.3% by volume.

Don’t know why but I was very excited to try this, I had heard really good things. 12oz bottle thanks to jake65. Thanks Jake! Pours a translucent, deep, maple brown color with a thin, lacing, beige head. Nose is pleasant and inviting, slightly nutty, slight crackers, brown sugar, sweet malts. Flavor is the same, sweet and malty, caramel, toffee, slightly nutty, almost candy like. Finish is sweet, smooth and a little buttery. Great session beer, subtle, perfect in a simplistic way.

Bottle. Pours a clear brown small head. Aroma of stale wheat and sweet malt. Flavor of caramel, some cardboard notes, although they generally fade as the beer warms. Palate is weak and watery. Ok, drinkable, but not a great example of the style. 6/4/7/3/14 (3.4/5)

Beautiful dark brown body with a thin tan head. Light, sweet aroma with malt, caramel, and nuts. The mouthfeel is a bit thin with moderate carbonation. Flavor is almost all malty sweet goodness. Caramel and brown sugar give way to just a touch of floral hops. Just a bit of an aftertaste. A pretty good brown ale.

Surprisingly nutty, with a slightly woody aroma. Certainly a good beer, but not my favorite.

12 oz bottle brought back from Montana by a church friend (way to go Catholics). Poured a clear brown color with red highlights and a two finger creamy tan head. The aroma was sweet malt and caramel. The flavor was toasty with caramel and chocolate present. The palate was above average with a medium/full body, mild carbonation and a silky smooth mouthfeel.

Bottle on 11/01/2008 courtesy of MaltDawg. Clear reddish-brown body with a small creamy off-white head. Sweet malty aroma, some toasty hints, with caramel and cocoa. Sweet malty flavor, still some light toastiness and caramel. Medium light body with moderate carbonation.

pours dark dark brown, mouthfeel is watery, taste is pretty good though, slight bitter hops, not too much though. little raisiny, quick finish, not getting a whole lot of flavor, but it does have a nice nut finish. I had higher hopes, but overall its drinkable, just not one i would seek out by any means.
