Commercial Description:
Moose Drool is our Brown Ale. Far and away the best selling beer brewed in Montana, Moose Drool is chocolate brown in color with a creamy texture. Our brown ale is a malty beer with just enough hop presence to keep it from being too sweet. The aroma also mostly comes from the malt with a hint of spiciness being added by the hops. Moose Drool is brewed with pale, caramel, chocolate, and whole black malts; and Kent Goldings, Liberty, and Willamette hops. It has an original gravity of 13 degrees Plato, and is 4.2% alcohol by weight, 5.3% by volume.

Reminded me of New Castle with more “stick” and more malty goodness. . . Pours dark brown, smells like a mixed nut trail box with malt. . . Dried dark fruits, coffee, cocoa. . . Great Brown ale, would buy again anytime. . .

Bottle purchased at Beertopia in Omaha, NE. Pours a deep, translucent brown with garnet highlights and two fingers of fizzy head that diminishes fairly quickly. The nose is of pale malt and earthy/herbal hops with supporting notes of caramel, peat and chocolate malt. This one smells almost like an English pale ale with a diversified malt bill. Just a touch on the light side of medium-bodied, the mouthfeel features soft carbonation and a dry, toasty finish. Beginning sweet and malty with cashew-like nuttiness and faint cocoa, the flavor transitions to a mildly herbal/hoppy finish. This is a pretty tasty brown. I would probably prefer this one with a different hop profile, but it’s a nice brown nevertheless.

Bottle courtesy of douglas88. Pours brown with a tan head. Smells of raisins, spice. Tastes of earthy malt, light citrus, some fruit, touches of molasses.

12 oz bottle acquired in trade with jake65. Pours a deep brown with a 1/2" tannish head. Mild aroma of roasted malt, caramel & nuts. Flavors are pretty much the same. Very drinkable & enjoyable. Wish it were available in my area.

12 oz. bottle served cold. Pours a deep brown with a small off-white head. Aroma is quite sweet. The taste is all delicious malts with a hint of hoppy bitterness. I don’t have refined tastebuds, but swear I could discern chocolate notes. I really like this beer, and have since I stumbled across it when traveling through Montana a few years ago. I revel in opportunities to consume it.

A decent slightly better than average brown ale courtesy of my Secret Santa. Thanks! Aroma was so so. Caramel, peanut and just a hint of chocolate. Pour was a nice dark brown, but no bubbles or head at all. Taste was a nice mix of chocolate, caramel and peanut (sounds like a candy bar) with just a hint of carbonation. A little more carbonation and some fuller flavor would make this great.
