Commercial Description:
Moose Drool is our Brown Ale. Far and away the best selling beer brewed in Montana, Moose Drool is chocolate brown in color with a creamy texture. Our brown ale is a malty beer with just enough hop presence to keep it from being too sweet. The aroma also mostly comes from the malt with a hint of spiciness being added by the hops. Moose Drool is brewed with pale, caramel, chocolate, and whole black malts; and Kent Goldings, Liberty, and Willamette hops. It has an original gravity of 13 degrees Plato, and is 4.2% alcohol by weight, 5.3% by volume.

Bottle. Pours a clear brown color with a longlasting creamy tan head. Sweetish malty caramel aroma with some hoppy hints. Sweet malty caramel flavor with some hints of chocolate and hops. Sweet malty caramel finish with some hints of hops in the aftertaste.

Poured more red than brown, but had a real nice head with good retention. Smell was nice and malty, smells of nuts and some dark fruit. Smell was appetizing, taste was rather weird. I kept getting a rather dry green bean taste. I don’t think I’ve experienced that before, especially in a brown. Mouthfeel felt overcarbonated and light in body. Not very good, but I might have gotten a bad bottle. Started out promising, finished not so good.

Bottle. Pours a reddish-brown with a small light tan head. Malty aroma, with yeast and dark fruits. Taste brings in more toasted malt, with yeast and fruits. Lingering bitter toastyness. Really nice brown ale, very drinkable.

12oz bottle. Pours clearish red brown with a fizzy tan head, no lace, no retention. Smells caramelly malty sweet, slight chocolate scents. Tastes malty and sweet, sugary molasses flavors. Good brew, not too complex or anything. Medium/thin body, crisp carbonation.

Poured from bottle a rich brown color with a large tan head. Aroma of malty grain, caramel and molasses. Flavor has a punch of sweetness at the start with malty caramel and molasses then moves on to roasted grain with some hoppy tart bitterness. This is a nice flavorful brown ale, not too harsh, not too watery, just about right.

Bottle. Brown pour with a tan head. Aroma is mild but dominated by the earthy willamette hop scent. Earthy bitter flavor with some mild roastedness. Pretty good.

Bottle thanks to Douglas88! A smooth, brown ale. Has a hint of roasted malts with some sweet caramel flavor as well.
