Commercial Description:
Moose Drool is our Brown Ale. Far and away the best selling beer brewed in Montana, Moose Drool is chocolate brown in color with a creamy texture. Our brown ale is a malty beer with just enough hop presence to keep it from being too sweet. The aroma also mostly comes from the malt with a hint of spiciness being added by the hops. Moose Drool is brewed with pale, caramel, chocolate, and whole black malts; and Kent Goldings, Liberty, and Willamette hops. It has an original gravity of 13 degrees Plato, and is 4.2% alcohol by weight, 5.3% by volume.

Draft at Hydro Bar in Calistoga. Looked like Dr. Pepper, and although it may not have 23 flavors, this beer was damn good. Caramel, nuts, chocolate, hops, molasses. One of the better brown ales I’ve had...and I’m not a huge fan of the style.

Sweet malty dream. Nice caramel aroma and color, good frothy head. Great example of the style.

It pours like cola, complete with a quickly dissipating head. Aroma is of caramel and hazelnut, taste is watery: some nut, some caramel. meh.

Pours a reddish brown with sweet malt and nuts in the aroma. Flavor is nutty, slight chocolate, and caramel sweetness.

Aromas of carmel, yeast, light resinous hops, floral notes (lavender). Toasted bisquit malts. Tastes of chocolate, whole wheat bread, subdued hops. Zesty and spicy earthy malt flavor. Medium bodied, watery texture, dry finish.

Dark brown, red-tinged. Nutty chocolate aroma, same flavours on the palate with medium bitterness. An approachable delicious brown ale.

POured a little cloudy brown color with a minimal off white head. Aroma is of nuts, sweet malts and some hops. Flavor is also very nutty but with a strong hop presence which to me seems a bit too much for the style.
