Commercial Description:
Moose Drool is our Brown Ale. Far and away the best selling beer brewed in Montana, Moose Drool is chocolate brown in color with a creamy texture. Our brown ale is a malty beer with just enough hop presence to keep it from being too sweet. The aroma also mostly comes from the malt with a hint of spiciness being added by the hops. Moose Drool is brewed with pale, caramel, chocolate, and whole black malts; and Kent Goldings, Liberty, and Willamette hops. It has an original gravity of 13 degrees Plato, and is 4.2% alcohol by weight, 5.3% by volume.

Bottle. Pours a clear brown amber with a small ring of a head that leaves minimal lacing. Aroma of light roated malt, caramel, and nuts. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium thin mouthfeel with a mild amount of bitterness. Good.

This a good, rich and smooth beer. I always enjoy it, whether it is on tap or bottled. It has a hint of chocolate, and is a deep brown, and pours a nice head.

Dark copper color, with a small head. Aroma is roasted with some caramel in it. Light on the palate with a slightly sweet aftertaste. Not a bad beer for the style.

Bottle. Says it is 5.1% ABV. Pours a clear dark red amber/coffee color with a decent tan head. Taste is of smoke, roasted malts, chocolate and caramel. Has a good mouthfeel. The aroma is similiar. Overall, this is pretty nice beer as it is easy to drink and is reasonably priced.

12 oz bottle. Pours a deep brown color, slight tan head, dissipates quickly. Yeasty, malted aroma. Flavor is yeasty, a bit of hops, but mostly a malted flavor. Not bad. Palate is a little thin for what I expected from something called "Moose Drool." But as I said, not bad.

2008 Bottle - Malty and grainy, very little bitterness, a nice brown. As it warms, it almost takes on a cola flavour, not too bad...

(cleaning out my beer bottle collection as pictured in my profile and utilizing ratebeer.com) As I recall, this was a malty ale with a nice balance of hops and spice.

Bottle from Sparky27. Pours a very dark brown color with a off white head. Smells like a combo of malt and yeast. Has a more yeasty flavor to me wtih a decent brown malt base. Not much hop flavor. Not too bad.
