Commercial Description:
Moose Drool is our Brown Ale. Far and away the best selling beer brewed in Montana, Moose Drool is chocolate brown in color with a creamy texture. Our brown ale is a malty beer with just enough hop presence to keep it from being too sweet. The aroma also mostly comes from the malt with a hint of spiciness being added by the hops. Moose Drool is brewed with pale, caramel, chocolate, and whole black malts; and Kent Goldings, Liberty, and Willamette hops. It has an original gravity of 13 degrees Plato, and is 4.2% alcohol by weight, 5.3% by volume.

I hate hoppy beers and this one is just right for me. Warm, malty and as they say, just enough hops to keep it from being sweet. I’d like less carbonation, but then that’s true of about every beer I drink except cask aged ales.

Pours brown with 3/4 inch light tan head. Nice rich aroma, earthen hops, sweet toasted malt. Dry finish, a little on the sweet end of the spectrum. Good session brew. Would like to have it on tap. From a can: 06-14-09 Dark brown with a modest off white head. Fair amount of lacings. Aroma is nutty roasted malts. Taste is nuts, bread, cocoa, and good support from some mildly bitter hops. Slightly dry and astringent on the palate. Carbonation is a bit much for an English Brown but normal for the US tongue. This is an average ale in many ways but with no bad character and the 5.1% abv you could drink this all night. First time I have seen this in a can. Tastes fine.

Clear brown color, fizzy, minimal head. Light bodied. Flavor is toasty malts, mildly sweet, with a peppery finish. Pretty decent brown ale.

On tap at New York Casino in Vegas. Pours a cloudy dark brown with a great beige head. The aroma is mostly brown sugar and malts. The taste is dominated by a thick sludge of malts and sweet caramel and candies. Some hops in the finish. Really quite nice and full. I enjoyed this one a ton.

Got this at a bar in Denver. A simple brown ale, very sweet and malty, but lacking the nut flavors of better brown ales. Nothing really stood out, but very drinkable.
