Commercial Description:
Moose Drool is our Brown Ale. Far and away the best selling beer brewed in Montana, Moose Drool is chocolate brown in color with a creamy texture. Our brown ale is a malty beer with just enough hop presence to keep it from being too sweet. The aroma also mostly comes from the malt with a hint of spiciness being added by the hops. Moose Drool is brewed with pale, caramel, chocolate, and whole black malts; and Kent Goldings, Liberty, and Willamette hops. It has an original gravity of 13 degrees Plato, and is 4.2% alcohol by weight, 5.3% by volume.

Bottle, pours a nice clear brown with a nice lasting tan head, Mild aroma, some malts, a bit dark in profile, and subtle hops. Taste is pretty nice, maybe some spice to it, slightly sweet but not at all cloying, slight hops. A nice and very, drinkable brew.

The color is dark brown with a thin tan head. The smell is nutty hoppy, caramel with a sweet molasses hint. The taste was nutty, toasted malt, hop, and a hint of molasses. The finish is clean and refreshing. I like this very much.

Dark brown pour with medium sized head. Nutty, caramel aroma with a sweet, nutty, hint of chocolate finish. I really enjoyed this.

12 oz. bottle. Standard drinkin’ beer. Started out with nice smell of nut brown ale, but aroma dwindled away. Nice brown color, starts with a thick brown head that settles to a lacy layer. Taste does have deep brown malts, with hint of stout malt roastiness in the background. Malts quietly matched by a stable, unsuprising hop note. Flavor intensifies a bit as I go further down. Nice prickly texture. Actually the least of the three Big Sky beers I’ve gotten to try, but still a fine beer in its own right.

A dark brown pour with red tinting. Smell of roasted malt aong with fudge and brownies. Had a nice nutty flavor with a mild sweetness. A slightly bitter finish.

Brownish red in appearance with no head. Toffee caramel aroma. Light chocolate flavor with toffee and caramel - not overly sweet, actually rather nice for the style. I am also detecting a nice nuttiness. Some hoppiness is apparent but not distracting. Fairly carbonated mouthfeel with a slight metalic finish. This is a pretty tasty beer and an exceptional brown ale.

Bottle. Pours dark brown and shows amber highlights when held up to the light. The head is short and off-white and is gone before you know it. The beer smells slightly of chocolate with biscuits, pretty faint aroma. The taste is pretty nondescript, not much to write home about. Some generic malts and a tiny bit of hops bite in the back of the palate. The mouth feel is pretty flat. I’m not real impressed.
