Had everything you would expect from a brown ale, slight sweetness, slight hops, and quite drinkable. Nothing outstanding, but drinkable and nice with a meal. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 1/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 2, 2007 Bottle. Rich and sweet chocolate aroma. Dark mahogany color. Complex malty flavor. The sweet chocolate comes through and the. The beer lacks any lingering bitter aftertaste which makes this brew very drinkable. What an amazing beer. This beer has the best elements of a brown ale, but also some characteristics of Altbier or a porter. y0cola (361), fremont, California, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 24, 2007 12 oz bottle. Light chestnut color with a thin soapy white head. Nice light creamy palate. Very mild and clean hop aroma with a slightly nutty maltiness. Taste has a bit of a hop tingle, but it’s mostly a malt show. The hop aroma is very good for a brown however, and the beer is very drinkable and refreshing. prosqtor (408), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 22, 2007 Not sure if I like this or not. Drank from the bottle, and there’s a big difference between aroma (bread, raisins) and flavor (nutty). From the tap it’s much more balanced. Dark brown in color either way, with not much head and minimal lace. pkbites (340), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA

Thick creamy, toffee head fades, but not completely. A thin layer of creamy, yeasty foam stays for the duration. This ale smells like cookie dough, tastes like a hazelnut milkshake.
