Aroma is roast malt forward, balanced by reasonable hop flora. Color is dark amber, with a light tan head; medium retention. Flavor is a fairly even hop/malt blend forward, followed by some more floral hop tones. Medium bodied, with med-high carb texture. Not bad; first time I’d actually had it on draught. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 17, 2007 Aroma is very light. I loved the dark brown colour with a touch of red. Slight taste of hops and a mild fruity tone to it. Overall not a bad beer with dinner but nothing special. A brown color, obviously, with a bit of redness to it. The aroma is nice, but not great. It finishes nicely, dry and smooth. oberabcbbsok (686), Hoboken, Belgium

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 9, 2007 Twelve ounce bottle poured medium bark brown with a hint of red, small white head with yarn-like lacing. The nose was of molasses and hay; the taste, of brown sugar, honey, and wheat with faint citrus. The body is silky and smooth and of medium weight with mild carbonation. The finish was both sweet and sour. I think I tend to rate browns more harshly due to my preference for hops and wheat, but I think I still prefer Rogue Hazelnut and even Samuel Smith Nut Brown to this. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 9, 2007 Appearance: Pours a clear brown body with hints of ruby and a tan-colored head. Sparse lacing.
Smell: Hardly any scent beyond a very faint sweet malt aroma. "Where did the aroma go?" So some brewer had better be asking themselves this question. Somebody better be up late at night wondering where THE HELL the aroma went to. Just sayin’.
Taste: Lightly sweet, roasted malts with just a bit of nuttiness. Hints of chocolate. Oh, and I think there’s a vague fruitiness to it squirreled away in semi-hiding, too. Light citrus hops round out the finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body, with a soft carbonation. The palate leans towards being unfavorably watery at times. I dunno why it had to do this, but it did.
Drinkability: One of the most adorable labels I’ve seen lately, but nevertheless this beer didn’t leave much of an impression on me. Tejas (702), Dallas, Texas, USA

OK but not great. sort of thin and weak and not much raostiness. Was balanced good though. Wasn’t too sweet. Head died immediately. Its my fav brown ale. The name might sound stupid, but its worth a try. I think this beer is better on tap, but i might be wrong.
