Commercial Description:
Moose Drool is our Brown Ale. Far and away the best selling beer brewed in Montana, Moose Drool is chocolate brown in color with a creamy texture. Our brown ale is a malty beer with just enough hop presence to keep it from being too sweet. The aroma also mostly comes from the malt with a hint of spiciness being added by the hops. Moose Drool is brewed with pale, caramel, chocolate, and whole black malts; and Kent Goldings, Liberty, and Willamette hops. It has an original gravity of 13 degrees Plato, and is 4.2% alcohol by weight, 5.3% by volume.

Thanks to BuckeyeBoy for this. Very dark brown in color with a small off white head. Aroma and flavor of malts, bitter chocolate and a good amount of hops. A pretty good overall brown.

Pours a clear but dark brown laden with chocolatey looking swirls. A fat tan cap forms atop the body and sticks around for the duration. Aroma is sweet chocolate and caramel malts with just hints of toffee and hops. Upon first sip I realize this is going to be far too easy to drink, so I order another, as I’ll be done by the time it arrives. It’s ten below in Milwaukee on this eve and this beer will warm me up; I’m going to help it along a little. Flavor is mellow and good. Tastes of chocolate, nutty caramel, toasted grain and again a little toffee. Finishes with a crispness I’ll attribute to a reasonable hop dose, light and satisfying, definitely an upper echelon brown ale. Palate is thin as expected but well rounded and very soft. Extremely easy to drink, I believe I had four before braving the cold again.

12 oz bottle from awaller05. Thanks Andy!

Moose Drool Brown Ale is a dark brown amber color and clear. It has a small foamy tan head that disipates quickly. The aroma is dark and malty with hints of chocolate malt. There is also a nice roasted malt/weak coffee taste. Some more roastiness and a light bitterness appears in the finish to balance this beer out. This beer has an average amount of carbonation. It is pretty smooth on the palate and very drinkable. Overall Moose Drool is a nicely done brown ale and probably one of the better ones out there. I liked the beer and really enjoyed the label (the newer label has a picture of a moose standing in a lake with a waterfall of drool coming from its mouth)...

Dark Mohagony color with a thick Tan Head. Decent lacing and head retention. Not very much aroma at first but as it warmed Earthy Roasted tones arose. Taste had a mild flavor of Roasted Malts but needs more. Warm and smooth going down. Easily drinkable

TAP - A good ale. Nothing too stand out but nothing at all objectionable. I was hoping for some more flavor out of this one, it seemed a little subdued, nothing wrong with that though. A solid choice for sure.

Tap @ Sparky’s. $2 pints BOT month. Sweet deal. Anyways, a clear, ruby-walnut color with a tan head, no lace. Aroma is malty. Body is medium, carb is nothing special, but decent. Flavor is dark fruits: olive, prune, lots of malts. The olive threw me off pretty bad "WTF is that!?" That’s new. Sessionable, but not a favorite.

A pretty good ale. Smooth and clean, pouring amber with a moderate head, this brew blends a measure of walnut in the background with lightly caramelled flavor and a bit of vanilla--just a bit--balanced out with a pleasantly hoppy mouthfeel. More complex than most bottled ales.
