Pours a dark brown, opaque unless held up to the light, with a small head that dissipates to just a film quickly. Aroma is cereal, malt sweetness, and a bit of hop if you really dig for it. The flavor follows the aroma, being mainly malt with some hoppiness in the short finish. Highly carbonated in the mouth, but with a thinnish flavor. Not a bad beer, more flavorful than Newcastle, but really not all that spectacular.

Dec 2, 2008 A very nice brown ale. Nice pour of a dark caramel brown with a thick tan head. Aroma is malty of caramel and nuts but with a nice chocolate aftertone and a slight hop presence. Flavor is much of the same with a good bitter finish. Creamy texture and very easy to drink.

~Crystal caramel malts, raisin, sweet chocolate malts, and nuts in the scent.
~Caramel malt taste, as well as raisins.
~Medium feel, smooth, bitter aftertaste.
~Well made brown ale, lots of scents and flavor make this an interesting brew.

Nov 27, 2008 Big fan of dark beers...this did not disappoint. Great name, great flavor. Tried to have one at every stop during my recent trip to MT. Extremely smooth, one of the more enjoyable beers I have ever had.
