Commercial Description:
Moose Drool is our Brown Ale. Far and away the best selling beer brewed in Montana, Moose Drool is chocolate brown in color with a creamy texture. Our brown ale is a malty beer with just enough hop presence to keep it from being too sweet. The aroma also mostly comes from the malt with a hint of spiciness being added by the hops. Moose Drool is brewed with pale, caramel, chocolate, and whole black malts; and Kent Goldings, Liberty, and Willamette hops. It has an original gravity of 13 degrees Plato, and is 4.2% alcohol by weight, 5.3% by volume.

pours a nice dark caramel brown with red highlights and a one finger fluffy brown head. aroma is fresh lightly toasted caramel malt with a touch of hops and something else i cant put my finger on. has a light to medium body with good lacing and carbonation. flavor is the same as aroma but a bit stronger and has a little bit of pine thrown in. not to bad of a brown, i like a little more hops in a brown, but not bad really fresh tasting. also it is a little light for a brown. this is my 4th and final beer out of the combo 12 pack, i had the ipa before and that is still the best one. i would rank the others as follows: moose drool, trout slayer and then summer honey. the aroma does fall off a bit on this one as it warms. i am putting my finger on a little dry dark chocolate cocoa powder.

Bottle courtesy of Howie @ the Cock & Bull Pub-thanks! Pours a dark brown with a thin fizzy tan head that diminishes quickly. The pour reminded me more of a cola rather than a beer. Aroma is nutty with hints of spices and chocolate. Flavor is malty and sweet with hints of roasted nuts and raisins mixed in with chocolate and caramel. Is thin on the palate with a creamy dry finish. Very tasty and enjoyable.

Bottle in Seattle on Alki Beach out of a plastic cereal bowl. Nice drinkable brown ale. Nicely hopped to stop this from being another cloyingly sweet brown. wish thsi was sold out east.

Silky sweet sexy chocolate goodness. Not the most complex of brews, but tasty nonetheless. Extremely wide appeal. Better than expected. Sure.

Reminded me of New Castle with more “stick” and more malty goodness. . . Pours dark brown, smells like a mixed nut trail box with malt. . . Dried dark fruits, coffee, cocoa. . . Great Brown ale, would buy again anytime. . .
