Obviously it is awkwardly straddling the line of bitterness, but it does it well. Lots of crystal with a bit of a really nice chocolate complement. Could be a little drier on the finish, but it’s not cloying or anything. naivepegasus (193), USA

Aroma is chocolaty, nutty, and lightly roasted with a very mild coffee hint. Flavor begins with a pretty noticeable hop flavor then quickly moves to a nutty and mildly roasted middle. Finishes with some light caramel and nutty notes. Really smooth and well balanced. arminjewell (150), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 23, 2009 Pours thick brown with off white/yellow head. Smells of woody and toasty malt, and taste is thick and full of toasted nutty malts that finishes smooth with a nice carbonation level. Overall a very decent brown ale, and very sessionable. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 21, 2009 Pours a big 3 finger light chocolate head. Body is dark brown in color. Head retention was good and lacing was above average
Aroma is of sweet caramel malt and some corn/ grains. No hops are detected
Taste is similar to the smell. Very malty but there is some off flavors in there. There’s a corn/adjunct flavor thats odd, mixed with a slightly metallic after taste. As the beer warms, earthy hops and some dried fig become apparent.
Mouth feel is above average. Body is a bit thin and carbonation is on the aggressive side. Head stayed around for awhile but didn’t really contribute to the beer.
Overall, very sessionable beer, solid brown ale. Cant really stand up to DFH Indian Brown Ale, my favorite in this style, but it was worth a try SuIIy (1486), Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, USA
