pretty much exactly how i’d imagine making out with a moose would taste like.
light, brown nectar. real thin brew, not thick or heavy at all. for some reason was really enjoying it this way even though i usually like thicker brewz. easy to drink!

Dec 14, 2009 Bottle. Pours brown with a stable white head. Rich malty aromas and flavour of chocolate malt and caramel and light hoppy notes. Nicely balanced. Medium bodied. A pleasant malty finish. A solid brew.

Dec 10, 2009 bottle thanks to swalden28. wow was this tasty for a brown ale. poured brown with a beige head. aroma was horse grain, chocolate, and slight coffee. flavor was grain, coffee, and some good bitter. light body. this blows new castle out of the water.

Dec 8, 2009 Pours brown with dark red highlights and a fluffy khaki colored head. Aroma of sourdough bread, pumpernickel, toast, coffee and dirt. Tastes similar with bready pumpernickel notes, mildly astringent coffee, and a bit of caramel. Finishes with toast, toffee and of course bread. Light bodied, spritzy carbonation and easy to drink. I enjoy the devotion to bready flavors. Not too unique, but I’d certainly have this more than once.

Dec 4, 2009 Bottle @ J.S.G. Pours dark amber with a small creamy bubbly white head. Sweet nose and taste. Nuts and caramel - vaguely roasted. Medium bodied. Pleasant.

Nov 26, 2009 Draft at Nick’s Pub in St. Louis. Pours a dark brown color with red tints and a light beige head. Aroma of roasted sweet malts, brown sugar, hops, and not much else- may have been too cold for other notes to show. Flavor was light for a brown ale, but caramel, other sweet malts, hops, and nuts were all present, with berry fruits late as it warmed and got lower. Light-medium bodied, with a chewy mouthfeel. A little disappointing for what I normally expect and love in a brown ale, but not a bad beer by any means.

Nov 22, 2009 Deep chocolate brown with a ring of cream head. Nose is chocolate and coffee. Little thin on the palate but, the huge coffee notes and the roasted malts are quite nice with the chocolate finish.

Nov 21, 2009 Orange pour that turns increasingly dark. Warm brown malty nose. Taste is sadly watery. Some dark bitter flavors but not enough to reclaim any glory.
