750 ml bottle thanks to Eric, the last brew of the night. I was perhaps a bit tipsy by this point, but anyway. Bottle number 915/1800. Pours a cloudy red color with a huge beige head. The nose is sweet, light malts and barrel. The flavor was warm; light fruit, spices, caramel, not very hoppy. An interesting brew.

Bottle #796 of 1800. Pours a deep burnt orange, hazy, with a lively sponge-toffee head. Sweet toffee, bourbon, and fruit aroma. Lively carbonation, heavy body. Sweet butter toffee flavours with notes of bourbon, vanilla, canned peaches, treacle. Medium hop bitterness and medium heat in the finish. Nice sipper.

Bottle (2006) … Murky, singed caramel-colored ale with a small, creamy, beige head. Excellent retention. The nose is of sweet caramel and brown sugar with an additional note of fallen wood. Full-bodied with a dry mouthfeel and dancing carbonation. The flavor is sweet and caramely, but also moderately acidic. Finishes tangy, sweet, and then bone-dry. Bottle courtesy of Skyview!

Pretty good barrel aged barley wine. Semi sweet malts with plenty of bitter hops balanced well with the boozy barrel character. A bit on the light bodied side with an oily slickness.

OK. This is a bummer. Why did they alias the bourbon barrel aged version to the regular? Whatever. 18 bottles in existence? Wow. 2005. Malty, amber color, Buttery oaky sweetness. Seaoffloydster tasting.
