| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 13, 2007 Pours a nice copper brown with a good inch of creamy off-white foam. Pretty good lacing. Mild malt in the aroma, not much else.
Initially malty and pleasant tasting, with caramel malt and a mild fruitiness. Non-descript hops are there for balance. Turns to just plain sweet in the aftertaste, almost like powdered sugar.
Light bodied, gently carbonated. An ok amber, though there are better ones out there. As a winter warmer, it misses the mark.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 9, 2007 Cloudy dark amber pour. Smells darkly fruity, some cherry and raspbery, as well as toffee. Tastes of plums, followed quickly by nuts and caramel. Bigger roasty flavors follow after that. Finish dries out the mouth a bit and tastes of plums again, followed by residing roast bitterness. Good transitioning flavors and a decent winter beer, but it needs something more to achieve greatness.
