It pours a copper color with plenty of white head.
Aroma is a medium amount of caramel malt smell.
Taste is really rather good. It is a nice balance of caramel maltiness, mild sweetness, and a bit of hop.
Moutheel and drinkability are good.
All-in-all, I would recommend this beer. undsioux7 (560), Cologne, Minnesota, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 3, 2007 Pours a clear dark amber with a ruby tint with a small off white head. Aroma of bready malts, caramel with just a hint of hops. Nice full mouthfeel with a taste of dough to start, dark fruits in the middle and a bit of hop bite in the end. A bit abrasive, but overall not bad. The fruit and the bread seamed to clash though. shendrix (478), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 1, 2007 A good brew for a winter evening, with a nose of cherries, a hint of honey, and some lightly earthy notes. Pouring amber with a medium laced head and rinsing across the palate with flavors of dark fruits balanced with a slight honey sweetness, a floral hoppy finish and a warming alcohol blanket. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 25, 2006 If you expecting a real English Strong Ale make sure you pass this one by. I thought the beer was more fruity tasting than bitter. I didn’t mind the beer, but maybe it would play better in the summer. Not bad, just not real good either. notoutpink (6), Seattle, Washington, USA does not count | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 21, 2006 An excellent seasonal ale. Smells of caramel, hops, and dark fruits and has a similarly well balanced taste. glkaiser (1171), Seattle, Washington, USA
