Jan 1, 2008 Bottle; this is not a typical winter ale in that it’s spices were a bit muted and it tasted overall as you’d expect a spiced porter. However it was definitely pleasant to drink, dark deep brown color with a slight off-white head.

Dec 30, 2007 12oz bottle.. typical mahoghany color of a English strong ale.. but lacks the bitter punch.. cinnamon hops and biscuit malts lead the way but not much else in terms of a good finish.. just okay.. wheres the bitter hoppy overtones?????

Dec 27, 2007 Bottle. Dark amber pour. Aroma of lightly roasted caramel malt, and some slightly metallic hops. The flavor is like the smell, and the metallic / edgy floral and spice flavoring is not good.

Dec 27, 2007 Bottle, Some malts, a bit metallic aroma, pours a dark amber with a tan head. Nice malty flavor light hops and a touch of spiciness. Pretty good, as are most of their brews.

Dec 23, 2007 On tap at Dublin Pub in Portland, OR--Poured a deep brown-black body with little to no head. Oily body. Nose of gingerbread, cherries, and stale malts. Fruity presence was disturbed by an off flavor presumably due to dirty tap lines. Peppery and sticky. Overall not very enjoyable, but will try again to make certain.

Dec 17, 2007 on tap @ papago. pours a caramelized color before cream is added to make caramel. it’s topped with a fluffy light khaki head. aroma is malty with toffee, orange and spicy hops. smells sticky sweet. flavor is jammed with malt followed with nuttiness, caramel, orange, black pepper and unknown dried herbs/british hops. surprisingly little sweetness. dry finish leaves a light bitterness in the aftertaste and keeps the sweetness in check. medium body and mouth feel makes it an easy drinker.

Dec 16, 2007 A copper hue with the aroma of floral spice malt. The taste is is nutty toasted malt with hops. There are hints of spices and molasses. The finish is slightly hoppy and very warming. A good beer overall..
