| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Mar 18, 2002 Bright orangey-brown; malty, demerara-like flavours, some toffee but overall a rather light effort for a winter ale. Other than some fleeting tosaty chocolate notes there is nothing to balance the sweetness, either, which doesn’t help matters. argo0 (6978), Washington DC, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 3, 2005 Pours a clear, mostly still, light brown copper with a nice frothy light tan head. Aroma is a fairly subtle blend of sweet caramel malts, English hops and a touch of corn. Starts fairly thick and malty with a pleasant sweetness, nice carbonation, and a pale malty, dry hoppy finish with a touch of adjuncts. I think this brewery needs to change their yeast strain because they seem to make some decent beers, but the yeast in the end is too adjuncty tasting and overpoweringly lager-like. Thanks to IndianaRed for this brew!
