Commercial Description:
Powder Hound is our Winter Ale, and since it is our own creation we call it a Northern Rockies Strong Ale. Powder Hound satisfies, with the fine hand selected British hops fully complimenting the smooth malt notes. After a day on the ice or in the snow, enjoy a Powder Hound Winter Ale. Available November through March.

Hints of cherry, apple, and alchohol in the aroma. dark amber with average head, leaves some lacing on the glass. Thick and malty like a barleywine, surprisingly hoppy. Similiar to Bridgeport's ebenezer which I also have lying around, but stronger and more complex. Vastly underrated, the best beer I've had from Big Sky so far.

Amber-brown pour leaving a small off white frothy head that mostly diminishes. Sweet malty flavor with light lacing in the glass leaving a creamy finish. MUSH ON you huskies! Only 3 of these in the store to take home....would like to "sample" a few more.

This beer pours a clear, dark copper coloured body with a thick tan head. Aroma is slightly hoppy with light coffee and a significant amount of floral notes. Tatse is light, but comfortable and satisfying. Finishes slightly bitter but balanced.

Pours a dark amber color with off-white head. Tastes of hops, caramel, and malts. Pretty smooth and drinkable. Good beer.

Reddish amber with a quickly dissipating tan head. Aroma of spice, malt, caramel, dough, toffee and alcohol. Smooth start with a semi-chewy finish that’s a bit spicy. Flavors include caramel, sweet malt, spice and mild alcohol. Vegetal and hop properties also creep in there. Decent winter beer (on a hot summer night).
