xsketchyx (184), Oregon, USA Mar 14, 2004 Hints of cherry, apple, and alchohol in the aroma. dark amber with average head, leaves some lacing on the glass. Thick and malty like a barleywine, surprisingly hoppy. Similiar to Bridgeport's ebenezer which I also have lying around, but stronger and more complex. Vastly underrated, the best beer I've had from Big Sky so far.
RasterMaster (8), , Oklahoma, USA does not count Sep 25, 2008 Amber-brown pour leaving a small off white frothy head that mostly diminishes. Sweet malty flavor with light lacing in the glass leaving a creamy finish. MUSH ON you huskies! Only 3 of these in the store to take home....would like to "sample" a few more. carruthm (431), Seattle, Washington, USA Sep 16, 2008 V - red amber color with light lacing and a smallish head
A - malty caramel
T - smooth malts with a little touch of hops and bitters. Good balance, just needs to be stronger.
P - Good as a sessionable beer. phishpond417 (1456), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Aug 19, 2008 This beer pours a clear, dark copper coloured body with a thick tan head. Aroma is slightly hoppy with light coffee and a significant amount of floral notes. Tatse is light, but comfortable and satisfying. Finishes slightly bitter but balanced. bluemooner (81), Rogers, Minnesota, USA Aug 2, 2008 Pours a dark amber color with off-white head. Tastes of hops, caramel, and malts. Pretty smooth and drinkable. Good beer. esjaygee (808), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA Jul 5, 2008 Reddish amber with a quickly dissipating tan head. Aroma of spice, malt, caramel, dough, toffee and alcohol. Smooth start with a semi-chewy finish that’s a bit spicy. Flavors include caramel, sweet malt, spice and mild alcohol. Vegetal and hop properties also creep in there. Decent winter beer (on a hot summer night).
