| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Mar 11, 2005 Clouded amber, well carbonated, good head formation. Woody, lightly spiced, caramel malt aroma. Pretty hoppy palate, spice and citrus, fair quenching citric bite in the finish. Body is very light and lacks a little in malt character. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 14, 2005 Pours a decent head with respectable lacing. Aroma is much more complex than the typical pale ale - grassy and green tea are evident. Flavor consists of the hallmark flower-hop IPA taste but is also more complex in that this element does not drown out more subtle elements such as vanilla, strawberry and fig. Finish is quite malty but not so much that the hops are drowned out as in many IPA’s. mikebeertaster (99), vancouver, Washington, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 8, 2005 Had it in a bottle. I really liked this beer. Thought it made for a really nice Pale Ale. It had good taste and a nice aroma. I look forward to having another down the road some time StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 7, 2005 Brew Club, February 2005. A descent pale ale. I thought it was an American Pale Ale, so seeing the classification on RateBeer as English Pale Ale clears up some of my uncertainties. That being said... smelled like it was sweetened with honey. Goldings hops and pine also hit the nose. Amber hued and fizzy. Tastes strongly of pine and hops. Has some sort of softening quality in the finish - sort of like the taste of a chocolate malt ball, with traces of caramel. Clean and light. mdi (573), Nebraska, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 24, 2004 12oz bottle, no BBD. Nice big grainy malty camelized aroma laden with grapefuit. Not much head. Much like Dale’s Pale, but smaller in every way. good bitter finish. Pretty decent pale ale, but not one of my tops. TheBeerGod (3177), Newport News, Virginia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 3, 2004 Bottled. Pours a light amber with a small white head. Nose is bready and hoppy with light spice and mild malt sweetness. The taste starts off as spicy hops, then moves to light earthiness, creamy malt sweetness and light citrus. Body is light-medium with minimal bitterness. Finish leans toward subtle citrusy hops, light spice, and more creamy malts.
