Smells of flowers and very light hops. The taste was surprisingly of caramel with a hint of flowers as well. The finish was again a surprise as it was rather sweet. It’s a surprising pale ale, but the flavor is still rather likeable. cblado (150), Wisconsin, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 5, 2009 12 oz bottle. Poured a golden amber color with a slight white head. Aroma was crisp hops and malt, some floral aroma. Flavor began with citrusy hops, then a strong malt flavor, and ended with a sweet finish. Overall I Iiked this one a lot. natejgood (190), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 2, 2009 Pours a clear medium amber color with a faint white head. The aroma is floral and lightly hopped. The flavor is a bit flowery with a light hoppy finish. The beer is easy to drink, and it doesn’t coat the mouth. This is a decent, light flavored pale ale. This beer is probably best for a warm day, but it probably doesn’t have the body to stand up to the sun for long without getting skunky. deyholla (735), Bloomington, Indiana, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 28, 2009 Bottle. Pours a golden amber with an off white head and decent lacing. Faint aroma of hops. Flavor is conservative with hoppy notes throughout. sethdude (603), St. Louis, Missouri, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 20, 2009 Pours golden with a huge foamy head. Medium lacing. Aroma is sweet caramel covered in grapefruit and pine needles. Flavor is initially warm and malty, toasted notes give way to a somewhat aggressive hop character that becomes quite fruity, but never sweet. Somewhat thin on the end. Not bad at all. Nicely balanced. Leaves a nice lacing down the glass. Best of Big Sky as of yet. FlssmrBrewAlum (1177), Lisle, Illinois, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | May 2, 2009 12 oz bottle courtesy of the Binny’s singles rack (Orland Park, IL). Pours a hazed golden straw, a tad dull, with moderate bubbly head that laces a bit. Aromas are heavy on lemony citrus, light grass, florals, tamer pale malts, with a hint of grapefruit. A touch of cereal grain sweetness. Initial is light bodied, a bit of an unwarranted sharp hop bitterness, lemon and grapefruit, a tad too bitter for the pale malt body. Almost a combination of too sharp hop up front, and too unassertive pale in the body. A bit watery. Finish is pleasant, with lemon and grass, moderate bitterness. Too watery overall. Ehhhhhh. hobbersr (412), Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada
