Sweet pungent chocolate aroma. Mild and lactic, not unlike a good Caribbean Stout. Honestly, I don’t know how you’d put this style into perspective if you have never been to the region. Sweet and sugary, pungent, but very drinkable. RB is right on with the categorization of this one. Not world-class by any means, but hits the mark for the style. tronraner (1934), Seymour, Tennessee, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 25, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours dark ruby brown with tall stand of khaki head. The aroma is caramel, milk chocolate, some slight oaty berryishness, and just a touch of espresso. The flavor is very mellow milk chocolate and obvious oatmeal. There’s a little bit of caramel sweetness and the faintest touch of earthy hops in the finish. This doesn’t push the envelope at all, but it is very smooth drinking. I could down a few of these. | 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jan 30, 2009 (12oz bottle) Courtesy of IrishBoy. Very cantiloup for a stout. Nose and flavours are less coffee than expected. Its mildly sour, slightly bitter cocoa and tart apples. Thin, ash-like finish. 4/2/4/3/9 hillfiiiiire (286), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 30, 2009 Dark pour without a noticeable head. Aroma is roasted malts, but not too much there. The flavor is what I really like. It’s nice sweet, roasted, a little coffee bitter, some milk chocolate, and amazingly drinkable. Finishes nicely and is overall a pretty good beer. phishpond417 (1953), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 20, 2009 Sampled out of bottle: Pours a dark brownish black colour with a medium sized tan head. Decent lacing left on the glass. Aroma is a little weak however, probably most dissapointing aspect of this brew. mouthfeel is pleasent and creamy, but taste is a little thin. Soft noticeable roasted malts and some milk chocolate. Finishes slightly metallicy. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 18, 2009 Like drinking creamed Texas tea. Pours quite dark with a nice blow job and a good residual lace. Full service! I smell a bit of roasted cocoa on the nose. Medium nectar with soft residual effers creating a slightly creamy texture. This brew goes down like chocolate milk. Huge cocoa essence like a prevailing wind delivers the goods from the big sky country. IrishBoy (2719), Bakersfield, California, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 9, 2009 12 oz bottle from Enniskillen. Nose is roasty nuttiness, plain old fashioned oatmeal, chocolate, plummy fruitiness, and a light vanilla note. Black with a good sized heavy lacing tan head. Flavor is of coffee, cocoa, very light caramel, oaty grassiness, and a bit of very light bitterness. All this complexity and flavor out of a 4.9% stout! This would be a goto beer if I could get it here.
