Scubatrip (387), Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA Nov 4, 2009 From the bottle, pours a golden yellow with not much of a white bubbly head. Aroma is weak and that of an obligatory blonde ale - corny, malty, meh. Taste is equally middle-of-the-road, just slightly better than the average blond ale. A hint of honey in the aftertaste is its only redeeming characteristic, otherwise it would be doomed to a poor(er) rating. Not terrible, but there are many another beer I’d opt for instead. beercamel (81), Chicago, Illinois, USA Nov 1, 2009 pours golden yellow with evaporating head. Beer lacks character from the beginning and flavor when drunken. Weak on the palate with no hoppiness. Aroma is sweet with a honey touch and flavor is mostly malts. Finhead (55), Illinois, USA Oct 13, 2009 A dark yellow pour with a very small white head. The aroma, just like the flavor is honey with some hops. It has a light body with a watery mouthfeel and short sweet finish. Overall, kind of boring beer. hobbersr (393), Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada Sep 7, 2009 Pours a golden yellow with a one finger sized head that laces a little. Aroma is very sweet, with honey and sweet malt dominating and some funky hops showing through. The taste is sweet and funky. Honey, spice, funk, and weird astringent hops. The palate is decent. But I am not happy I have 300 ml of this left after the rating. unclemattie (2370), Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2009 12oz bottle. Made with real honey and spices! Pours clear golden yellow. Thin fizzy white head. Aroma is of sugary wort, honey, lemon zest and unflavored salt water taffy. Thin bodied. Flavor of pale malts. Followed by a grassy bitterness. Nice. Refreshing. Not my bag, Lacks balance. drowland (1337), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Aug 22, 2009 Snagged a bottle while in Milwaukee. Very good up front, but the finish was metal/mineraly... pretty good, though. Beaver (587), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA Aug 13, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours a clear yellow with a smallish white head that quickly goes to a thin film.
The aroma is sweet clove honey and some spices.
The flavor is sweet bready malts and a bit of honey with some subdued spicing. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with good carbonation.
Overall, a decent slightly plain summer beer.
troyc (1160), Lubbock, Texas, USA Aug 6, 2009 [Bottle] Pours a light golden color with a small white head. Aroma of sweet grains and light grass. Taste is noticeably of honey, but not in a cloying or artificial way. Maybe some light fruit notes as well. A light and crisp hop finish. This beer is certainly not very heavy and is quite refreshing. At the same time, I really can’t find any flaws in here at all. Definitely one of the better ’summer seasonal’ beers I’ve had recently.
