Very light malt aroma, light sweet taste, which just because the word hoeny is in the label, probaly made me think of honey sweetness. Had a little sticky sweetness (honey and caramel). Light and toasty malts. Crisp and refreshing summer/lawnmower beer. Light bitterness; mild, flowery aromas. Curiously tea-like. Clean. Decent balance. Drying finish. Pretty good light beer. Rerate in ’06, bottle: Clear and light golden. Decent carbonation; light body. Flowery and lightly spiced (cloves, pepper, light grass). Healthy amount of bitterness, especially against such a light sweetness. Dry and bitter aftertaste. Pleasantly refreshing, yet very readable. Oakes (8101), gone rambling, Cambodia
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 24, 2005 Amber colour. Light doughy-grassy aroma. Some light orangey hops work with dull pale malts and a hint of sweaty yeast. Quick finish. A little fizzy. StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | May 16, 2005 Totally transparent and bright gold in color. Aroma is potato chips and corn fritters with a hint towards lemons. Thin and light. Bready components are apparent from whatever middle of the road yeast strain was used here. Summer quaff? Yes. Try it again? No. SledgeJr (2962), Omaha, Nebraska, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 14, 2005 In the bottle. Rich deep gold with a white head. High level of carbonation. Honey aroma. Sweet flavor, but not an excessive honey taste. A pleasant beer, but not as good as the Sioux Bee honey ale. fuzzywasabeer (28), boise, Idaho, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 25, 2005 12oz bottle, gold in color, 2" white head took forever to fall, looked like a good beer, semi-sweet spice aroma, the taste didnt excite me, a little spice couldnt find the honey, could have been easier to drink, wont buy any more this year. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 14, 2005 Clear golden, quickly dying head. Aroma is pretty lacking, hints of honey. Light hoppy taste up front, tastes of honey in there as well. Balanced, rounded bitterness and herbs round out the palate. Medium to light body. Not as bad as I thought it was going to be. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 29, 2005 Looks decent. Average white head, clear dark yellow body. Light malt and honey in the nose. Wet and light without much more than some slight sweetness and not much else. Lacks anything interesting but is inoffensive.
