Deep ruby color with a root beer head. The nose hinted at the spices to come, but it did not give any indication of the size and scope of the flavor. Tons of ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon and other spices that seemed backed up by an almost chocolate sweetness. The hops were only allowed to come out at the very end. Very smooth mouthfeel but very aggresive spices. I bet it would mellow nicely, but there is no way it will last that long.

This refreshingly winter-redolent beer is remarkably true to its name. Pungent with cinnamon, cloves, and orange peel in this maroon colored ales that brings out the Christmas season. Nice warming sensation from this quintessential winter holiday selection.

Tastes and smells like a clovey apple pie. Man, it’s been a while since I had a really good apple pie. Hey mom, if you see this can you pop a pie in the mail for me?
