This is loud and proud the Strongbow Cirrus of the beer world, it seems so entrenched in image it could easily pass as the closest running to Beck’s at the ’Ministry of Sound’ without the patrons even noticing it was poison, crazy stuff!!!
Produces a dull gold in the glass. A massive flurry of atmosphere dependent bubbles erupted up to an thick, loose as a goose, cauliflower white head that held and daubed the glass with such vigour. Aroma, peppermint and celery spring to mind - both ends of the spectrum, why not!? - a little sweet, candied lemon on end. Featherweight chardonnay in the mouth, literally. It is seamlessly fruity, sour, light malt showing and all together like a well attenuated wine as it dries out in the back end. A slight astringency meets what I guess were hops showing the infusion of peppermint and cooked celery I got on the aroma. It finishes crisp, bubbly like a cheap champagne. Quite thin overall. A palate cleanser it was not, an Amstel/Heineken clone it seemed closer to but overall I must say that the only sample I got was BAD!!! (33cL, BB 30/09/06) EithCubes (2146), Indiana, USA
| 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Jun 1, 2006 Bottle. Pale golden pour with a short fickle white head. Smells mashy with a hint of sweet malt. Not a very pleasant taste, corn, thin, wretched would do it. Aftertaste is vaguely sweet and carbonic. MiP (9089), Sønderborg, Denmark
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 6/20 | Apr 11, 2006 Bottle. Weak, bready aroma. Golden colour. Big, stable white head. The flavour is a bit boring. OK bitterness, though. MoritzF (4954), Bochum, Germany
| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 5/20 | Oct 31, 2005 (bottle) Clear and pale golden colour with a mid-sized steady white foam. Grassy hoppy nose with a touch of malts. Light sweet flavour and taste, light bodied mouthfeel, slightly hoppy watery finish. Haven´t had such a tasteless brew in a long time. Bland and boring. | 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jun 1, 2005 (Bottle 33 cl) Claiming "The international taste" on the label should be a warning to everyone. Well, this is not awful - just very streamlined and unexciting. I guess the deal is to remove some malt, some hops hence leaving less flavour and character. Binding has suceeded in what they intended. 041199
