JagerQueen (123), Shoreline, Washington, USA Jul 3, 2006 Sits a murky dark malt color in the glass, big fluffy head that diminishes after a bit. Nose is sweet and sour, honey and tang. First taste is yummy sour, full flavored with a touch of honey and fruit, and even though it gets a bit bitter in the aftertaste, it doesn’t take away from it’s smoothness.
Naka (407), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 18, 2008 Pours a very effervescent copper amber color with a thick tight foam light beige head that lasts for awhile and leaves a little lacing. Aroma is a sweet floral pear, a slight yeasty bite, and a touch of alcohol. Flavor is high on sweet malty honey. Brown sugar and honey are very noticeable. A nice little spice to it. The mouthfeel is very creamy and doesn’t have the spritz that it appears it would. Leaves a fruity warming alcohol on the tongue. CaptainCougar (4625), Rockville, Maryland, USA Aug 16, 2008 Pours a slightly hazy dark copper amber with slight ruby hues. Aroma of sweet dark honey and caramel with some fruity pear notes and biscuity Belgian malt. Body starts effervescent and fruity sugary sweet with a nice complex honey and pear character before a drier, slightly warming finish. A pretty interesting, unique and drinkable brew. yespr (6162), Copenhagen O, Denmark Aug 7, 2008 33 cL bottle. Pours hazy and golden deep orange to brown with a creamy and light tan head. Dense caramel malt aroma, also light fruity to flowery. Flavour is dark malty, roasted and slight metallic. Light yeasty touch. Followed by a mild fruity finish gliding down from the dense caramel everlasting flavour into a smooth and wellbalanced finish. BorksBabe (75), Tampa, Florida, USA Aug 5, 2008 This is a REALLY nice beer. Aroma is of honey, molasses, and barley. Flavorful- you can really taste the pear and honey in this. Smooth palate... overall very nice. porterhouse (916), Alna, Maine, USA Jul 30, 2008 (330 ml bottle from Tully’s) Damn nice aroma but taste doesn’t quite live up to it...Pours cloudy dark brownish red with about a finger of fine-bubble light tan head. Some chunks toward the bottom of the bottle. Aroma of raspberry, sweet malt, candy, honey and molasses. Mouthfeel light but with a nice smooth texture. Fine-bubble carbonation. Some light fine sheets of lacing. Tastes of raspberry, honey and fruit, very natural-tasting but slightly subtle. Candyish-malt taste almost like a barleywine. Some light brown sugar/molasses. Given all that it’s not overboard sweet at all. The surprise is a doppel-like smokiness like the Bink Bruin. Nice bitter finish is marred a bit however by a slight soapy quality. Absolutely no evidence this is 7%. A tasty, unique little offering overall. I like these Kerkom beers!
