Lunkie (1020), Glen Iris, Australia Jan 6, 2008 Smokey malt hop aroma. Red amber colour with poor head and lacing. Bitter stale ash tray malt flavour. Flat palate. vanvenlo (784), Glen Iris, Australia Jan 30, 2007 19 Jul 2006 - (Victorian Microbrewer’s Showcase) - BIg sweet fruit, sour and slight barnyard aroma. Clear amber colour with a slight red colour, lowish head and light suds lacing. Sweet sour fruit and light hop malt flavour. Simple sweet hop finish and lingering light malt. I can’t believe this is a Scotch Ale but OK anyway. Stew41 (899), Caulfield, Australia Aug 3, 2006 Bintara Scotch Ale
One word review? Hopeless!! Pours like a softdrink – think creamy soda. Aromas show some early promise with ginger and spices but cheap malt sweetness comes over the top (standard issue for this mob). Dilutive and characterless to drink. Had I tried this blind I would have guessed a weak ginger beer, kinda like my Grandmother used to make with the DIY Soda Stream soft drink maker. Is this a bad bottle because this would have to be worst beer I have ever drank. Geez Bintara have some work to do!!!!
