Commercial Description:
The Bios Kriek Lambic is sold under the CHERISH label in the USA and outside Europe. Everybody likes the right balance between the sourness of the Lambic and the sweetness of the fruit, in this case cherries. The aroma of the cherries is not too dominant, as it should be. The beer gives a very pleasant and refreshing feeling in the mouth, with a smooth cherry aftertaste. The Bios Kriek Lambic is an excellent thirst quencher, low in alcohol (5 % by volume) and great to drink at parties. True Lambic lovers prefer the Bios Kriek Lambic so much because you taste slightly more of the Lambic sourness, than in some more commercial Belgian Lambics, wherein the artificial sweetness is too strong.

Bottled. Clear red in colour, a slightly read head. The aroma is cherry like, modestky sweet. The flavour is almost dry, cherry like, with a sweet aftertaste.

Rating for Cherish Kriek, 2000 Vintage     There was a pinkish tint to a whisky/amber body that held light particulate, slight haze and a thin head. Juicy aromatics are very fruity and floral with a healthy dose of cherry. Flavor is fruity yet not overdone even though it finishes and lingers with a berry sourness.

Dark cherry red with minimal bubbles for a head. Lots of articficial cherry syrup smell on the nose. Sweet, candy sugar flavour that moves to a tratness as it continues down. Sweet candy flavour dominates too much for me.

Dark red colour with orange highlights. Smells like Vick’s cough drops. Very sugary, candy cherryish aroma. There is some tartness, but also a massive cloying cherry candy overtone. Not my thing.

Bottle with ChineseHercules. Minimal white bubbles and ghostly film. Salty sour cherry aroma is better than the flavour. Sweet cherry is a little bit like candy and cough syrup with a hint of salt.

lovely dark cherry sour aroma, sugary, yeast undertone. Pours a slight orange-red, thin head. Sweet cherries in the flavour, prunes, tart finish. A tad syrupy for my tastes, but not too bad.

I found this a fun brew to try. Bottle, pours a dark maroon red. A pinkish head laces the bottle. Cherries describes it’s aroma well, citrus and maybe wine. Taste acidic, cherries mixxed with a heavy tart. I enjoyed this brew, something very new for me at this point. I look forward to running into others.

In the 250 mL bottle. Pours reddish brown with a medium white head. Has a candy sweet chery aroma with possibly a bit of chocolate. Very tart flavor. The finish is a bit cidery and skunked. Thin body.
