Commercial Description:
The Bios Kriek Lambic is sold under the CHERISH label in the USA and outside Europe. Everybody likes the right balance between the sourness of the Lambic and the sweetness of the fruit, in this case cherries. The aroma of the cherries is not too dominant, as it should be. The beer gives a very pleasant and refreshing feeling in the mouth, with a smooth cherry aftertaste. The Bios Kriek Lambic is an excellent thirst quencher, low in alcohol (5 % by volume) and great to drink at parties. True Lambic lovers prefer the Bios Kriek Lambic so much because you taste slightly more of the Lambic sourness, than in some more commercial Belgian Lambics, wherein the artificial sweetness is too strong.

Bottle. Purple-red color with a slightly pinkish head. Big cherry aroma with slight dust. Very fruity aroma. Fruity cherry flavor with some sweetness and a bit of sourness and dusty undertones. Not bad. Nice and refreshing.

Draught at Den Tatoverede Enke, RBESG Pub Crawl, August 2005. Vibrant pink colour. Lots of cherry but its of the cough syrup/cherry bomb boiled sweet type and tastes rather artificial. Plus its way too sweet and the balancing sourness doesn’t come through very strongly, except in the aftertaste, where it lingers far longer than the fruit. Not well balanced. As a fruity drink I suppose its pleasant enough, as a kriek its not too impressive.

Cherry aroma, cherry color, cherry head, cherry flavor, cherry finish. If you like a cherry flavored beer thats sweet with no sourness, then this one is for you.

8.4 oz bottle. Hazy pink-orange color with foamy off white head. Enticing cherry juice aroma. Smells delicious. More tangy and sour than sweet with a lingering sour note. The flavor is dominated by cherries, but there is a delicate malt flavor in the background and a pleasant grainy aftertaste that persists after the sour note fades. Good lambic.

Pours a hazy deep red color with no head. All I smell in the aroma is sour cherries. And while the aroma is strong, there should be at least a hint of malt or hops and not a cherry dominance. I swear it smells like juicy fruit with vinegar added. It tastes way too much like juice and not enough like beer. There is only a slight malt presence, and an overwhelming cherry explosion. And the cherries taste artificial as well - like cherry pie filling or cough syrup even. Plus, there is this lingering sour metallic taste that is extremely unpleasant. While there is lively carbonation, the body is very thin and tastes watered down. Overall this is a really bad lambic - STAY AWAY.

Bottled. Pours a hazy dark red color. Strong cherry aroma. Reminds me of a fruit juice smell. Slightly sweet cherry flavor right up front. Tart finish with a slightly metallic taste. A slight champagne sort of aftertaste.

From a 8.4 oz. slender long neck brown bottle with bottled/freshness code on the back label, 31 JB, that I’m not sure what date that translate out to. Made kind of a average appearance, poured a cloudy cherry hued brown with no real head, just some fizzy bubbles that quickly formed a fine bubbly lacing. Had a big cherry juice aroma, sweet with a little tartness. Medium carbonation and a tart, slick light bodied mouth feel, above average drinkability. Once again, had a tart, mildly sweet cherry juice taste that masks the other flavors and a dry, cherry finish with a sweet alcohol tinge lingering in the palate.
