It reminds me of a few select varieties of wine I don’t care for at all. This beer tastes like Satans asshole. Dubbercody (214), Vancouver, Washington, USA

Bottle poured into tulip glass. Red burgundy color with a white bubbly head. Smell is nice, gives a god indication of the sweet/sour mix that comes through in the flavor profile. Clean finish that drinks down very easily. Defiantly would drink again.
Very good beer to enjoy watching the beginning of Underworld: Rise of the Lycans. (Maybe there is also something about Sours and Werewolves?) cracklefish (3), Ohio, USA does not count | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 6, 2009 Aroma comes on with a deep red wine twang, bing cherries and some minor butter/caramel. Little sweaty or goaty as it warms. Pours a deep copper red with medium high clarity, some ruby and garnet flashes. Off white head that lingers with belgian lacing. Flavor comes on pretty sweet but subdued, not malty. Middle is full and round with same notes as the nose, some cranraisin characters. Finish is smooth and long getting dry to a clean finish. Medium high carbonation. This is a very drinkable sour red that is very smooth and pretty complex with a great balance. noompa (130), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 6, 2009 On tap @ the Map Room. Not my favorite Flemish Sour by any means, but tasty enough. An unclear burgundy/burnt sienna w/ some swirling galaxy lacing; aroma is sweet and slightly sweaty w/ notes of horse blanket, wood and a pronounced metallic twinge that is intensified in the flavor; flavor is vinegary, less sweet than the Duchesse (albeit sweeter than the Rodenbach & La Folie)- the metallic twang is pronounced in the flavor, dissipating only marginally as the beer warms; finish is funky and wild. A tasty enough Flemish Sour. flatmatt (229), Northville, Michigan, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 4, 2009 330 mL bottle as Monk’s Cafe Flemish Sour. Pours brown with a large, pillowy light tan head. Aroma is sour apple with caramel, dark fruits, and banana. Sour and sweet flavor with apple, cherry, caramel, raisin, red wine, and some cloves. Very syrupy, at times a little too syrupy. Pretty nice. Slipstream (780), USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 28, 2009 Called Monks Cafe Flemish Sour Ale. Dark pour, light foamy head. Cool little drawing on the label of a monk’s silhouette on a beer barrel. Saturating aroma of sour wine and malt. Fine flavor of tasty malt and sour something or other, and some bruised fruit too. Light hops and an easy aftertaste. A nice combination of flavors that makes for a very drinkable change of pace brew. Tejas (703), Dallas, Texas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 27, 2009 Draught > Gingerman. Not very experienced in these but I know this taste delicious. Not overly sour; just enough to detect but not so much to cover up the cherry flavor. savnac (453), Palmer, Alaska, USA

Sweet cherry taste with a sour flavor throughout. Crisp, silky mouth feel with a tart, sweet, dry finish. Very nice sour ale.
