I always mention lace when it is there… but who really cares about it, lol. Aroma of cherry, oak, paint thinner and sourness. Taste is semi-sour with tannins, oak and a semi sour finish. Decent and drinkable but kind of sub par for the style. Travlr (727), Washington, Washington DC, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 28, 2008 Deep ruby red. medium white head. Aroma of sour cherries and malt. Vinegar flavor. Sort of a ess complex version of Rodenbach, similar to their "Alexander" which is no longer brewed. Not much of a finish. BMan1113VR (2883), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA

Pours with a large, light brown head and a clear copper body. Head leaves good retention. Aroma of vinegar, sourness, cherry and soy. Flaver is sweet with vinegar, splenda or some sort of backsweetner, and a bit of meat. Easily an Oud Brune. Lightly fizzy with a dry mouthfeel. Not memorable. m4rest88 (216), Beverly Hills, California, USA

Pours with a dark brown hue, with a light brown head that is mostly diminishing. Aroma is of sour cherry, soy sauce. Flavor is very sugary - which is suprising for a sour ale. Tastes almost like meade.
Lively carbonation, with a syrupy texture.

Deep reddy brown colour and with a lovely sweet and sour bite. Nicely tangy but sweetness is just a little too much, some balsamic vinegar on the nose, malt also present, good beer. Some kinda cherries on the nose with like sweet and sour sauce or something. And some saltiness or something. Not a excellent sour ale, but it’ll help pass the time. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 18, 2008 On tap at Monk’s Cafe - Philly. Really rich vinous and acid nose. Complex, sherried, and rosy. A real fresh amalgam of ruby fruits, delicate acid character and slight maple sweetness. Awesome. Flavor is ridiculous. A real dense combination of oak, cherries, sweet caramel, and a perfect kiss of acetic acid. Blended, I imagine. A real nice integration. Kisses of chocolate, sweet almonds, and light carbonation. Real easy drinking and very expressive character. This is a fun and exciting version!
