Pleasant, a bit sharp, nothing really great............ Glouglouburp (2826), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Feb 28, 2007 Tap at Boston Sunset Grill. Clear copper-red body with no head. Watery body with out of control yeast gives it a cherry flavoured bubble gum flavour. Some faint caramel here and there. The body just doesn’t hold it together. Sourness intensity is on the light side for the style. No really, not much to say about it. I ordered it under the name “Monk’s Flemish Sour Red” not knowing it was the Bios Vlaamse under a different name. I’m not found of the bottle and the tap is even worse. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 26, 2007 Dank sour aroma, slightly vegetal. Flavor has a bit of gym lockerroom/sweaty socks in the finish that is a bit off-putting. In fact, the finish basically just tastes exactly like sweat. Same consistency, too. Still, with big sips you don’t get that till late, and otherwise its a decent -- if not highly restrained -- flemish sour. Fantastic pour, though. Not worth $4.50 for a bottle! mkobes (2104), paramus, New Jersey, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 19, 2007 A new style for me. Nice amber body with a tan soapy head and moderate carbonation. Aroma is sweet and malty with some spice. It is a delicious aroma. First taste has a nice sour / acidic grab to it. Not like anything I have previously tasted. The middle of the tongue is stimulated but not greatly. Flavor settles into a very nice floral and fruity beer that is a delight to drink.
