On draught at the brewpub in Birdsview, Washington. Pours a clear golden pale yellow brew with a fast dissolving off-white head that leaves behind some spotty lacing. Aroma of toasted golden grain malt with a touch of biscuit character, dry green apples with some grassy hops. Taste has a dry fruit flavor with some golden grain malt and apple. Finish is slightly flat with a dry fruit and grassy hop bitterness. An interesting English pale ale with some dry fruit character.

Draft at the brewpub. Crystal clear dark straw with a nice thin gray film and solid sheets of lace. Medium body perfectly accented with restrained carb. Lovely rye sourness and biscuit on the mid-palate. Longish rye sour finish.

On draught at the brewery. Aroma is caramel with some light roast forward. Hop character is very muted. Appearance is hazy light gold with a well retained white head. Flavor is semi-sweet malt blended with earthy PNW hop flavors. Bittering is medium. Mouthfeel is medium-low bodied with medium carb feel. Overall, the flavor was a bit too earthy for my tastes, but a better made and more complex pale than most.

Slightly dark straw colour and a tad murky. Hop aroma of some earth and pine. Flavour is bready with light hop presence. Finishes with a light bitternes. Nice and simple pale ale.

Hazy dark straw. Smells like more saaz, not that this is a bad thing. Herbaceous hop aroma. Grainy, and somewhat thin, but with fresh malt character, moderate bitterness and a decent hop signature. Still, here you see the Birdsview signature - brilliant aroma but grainy coarseness on the palate.
