The first fruit beer brewed by Birra del Borgo, I think. Rasperry flavour and aroma are ok but something is still missing. On tap in Bir & Fud (25.5.2009).

Bottle at Bière Mondial 2009, Strasbourg. Pours a slightly hazy orange with a white head. Strong smells of raspberries. Sweet with some sourness. Strong raspberry aromas. Fullish bodied. Medium carbonation. Slightly sticky mouthfeel. Strong and long raspberry finish. Good.

With thanks to Josh. Appearance: Peach colour with a small white head. Aroma: Peach juice, sour, apples, yeast, tangy with cherry and nuts. Flavour: Quite tart, peach, lemon with a large amount of cherry and coriander and mango to finish it off. Nice and sour finish.

An orangey ruby hazed ale with a thin white head. A wonderfu aroma of raspberry mash with seeds, oraganic and pleasant, a bit lactic. In mouth, a lambic like light raspberry ale with raspberry mash. Delicious. Bottle at Mondiale 2009.

Del Borgo Rubus/Lamboni. Medium body color, cloudy amber orange color. Aroma is sweet with lots of raspberry and other tart fruit and some funk. Semi dry and almost rotten flavor, old.

Tap at Maxs. Pours a hazy pinkish red with coppery hints and a thinning tight white head. Aroma is some ok fresh raspberries with some herbal grassy mineral quality, and some slightly bloomy funky cheese rind. Flavor is fruity and flowery- almost rose hip like, citrus, with mineral and slight salt with the fruit and finishes off with a bit more grassy herbal notes and some fruit acidity for a cleaner tart finish. Ok.

In short: A refreshing and very tart raspberry beer. Good stuff
How: From the bottle at Montreal Mondial de la Bière 2009
The look: Cloudy orange-red body topped by a very small white head
In long: Nice fresh raspberries nose. Taste is mainly focussed on fresh raspberries lying on a neutral flavourless bed of wheat. The beer also develops a light cherry-like flavour with its associated sourness. Body is light but never watery. The beer is rather tasty and very tart so this is far from your bland fruit beer. I learned a new word, Rubus. Now I can look smart and say I enjoy Rubus fruticosus pies.
