Commercial Description:
Born from the Italian beer brewing tradition, BAFFO D’ORO is a premium, pure malt beer. It is produced using only selected varieties of malted barley and contains no other cereals. The result is a beer with an alcoholic content of 4.8% volume and is characterized by its lively golden colour, to which it owes its name. BAFFO D’ORO with its deep malted flavour fits perfectly with a variety of Italian meals, from pasta to roast meat to pizza.

Bottle at Malpensa airport. Full malty taste, rather sweet. While way above the watery cardboard of the cheapest Italian beers, it is not much, really. A little bitterness in the finish, but no gold here, I’m afraid.

Bottle from some restaurant in Venice, Italy: poure deep golden yellow with a fairly small white head. Moderate hop and grain aroma. Flavor actually surprised me. Had some grassy notes with a little bit of citrus. Very refreshing and crisp. Not worth the 6 Euro per bottle but...

Bottled 0,66L. Yellow golden color golden with an optimal and fine bubbly. Creamy and abundant head of medium resistance. Fresh aroma of cereals, grass and grains, light note of malty too. Fresh taste even if abundantly washed out and little aromatic. Bitterish final with light alcohol presence. In the standard of the brewer.

From my notes 6/10/07 pours a two-finger white head that vanishes to a ring, leaving no lace. Clear amber color. Slight hoppy nose. Light-medium carbonation and light-medium bodied. Flavor is balanced with a slight bitter finish. €11 ($15.07) for a 330ml bottle from the Gran Caffè Chioggia Venice, Italy. Yes it is expensive, that’s 30 bucks for two beers, this is the big restaurant right on the corner in St. Mark’s square in Venice - avoid. Vendors along the canal have cold beers for €3.

Bottle. Frothy white fair mostly deminishng head. Dark yellow colour. Nice malty and light hopy aroma. Moderate bitter flavor. Surprisingly powerfull bitter average finish. Watery palate. I am not fond of this beer but it has some quality that makes it a little better than other Italian Pale lagers.
