Commercial Description:
Born from the Italian beer brewing tradition, BAFFO D’ORO is a premium, pure malt beer. It is produced using only selected varieties of malted barley and contains no other cereals. The result is a beer with an alcoholic content of 4.8% volume and is characterized by its lively golden colour, to which it owes its name. BAFFO D’ORO with its deep malted flavour fits perfectly with a variety of Italian meals, from pasta to roast meat to pizza.

Decent malty Italian lager. Nothing sensational here but you can tell they’re using quality malts. Pale gold, decent 1.5cm shaving foam head. Some lace. Slightly skunked - hurray for green bottles - but also showing grassy hops, bready malts and a slight sourness. Sweet and malty at the front of the mouth. Very bready - you can taste the quality. Quite substantial in the mouth but a tad overcarbonated. Reasonable bitter bite in the finish. Probably the best lager I’ve come across in a while, but then I am Australian. (33cl bottle, Amatos, bb 10/06)

Golden with a frothy head. Neutral aroma. Light malt flavour. Long, sharp grassy bitterness. Had more character than I expected but still nothing to write home about.

2005 AIBA Sample. Gold colour lager which is almost immediately bitter and that’s all. One dimensional but about as good as i’d expect from an italian pale lager.

(Bottle 33 cl) Fully golden beer with a neat, full head. Nice malty body, some sweetness and almost no hops. Just a Lager, but a pretty ok one. "Baffo d’Oro" I believe is something like "The golden beard/moustache"? 070104

Bottled: Golden coloured. Clear. Fluffy white head. Grassy and light hoppy aroma. Flavour of light hops, sweetness and fruit. Ends on a light bitter note with some sweet undertones. Is thin bodied and watery.

the best lager that i’ve found in a while. A light hoppy flavor. And any pale lager with something resembling flavor is amazing in and of itself

Shiny golden appearance with intense carbonation and a beautiful white head. Definitely malty, with little or no hops bite. Not too different from your ordinary lager.
