Served at cellar temperature in Duvel glass. Big aroma hits me instantly! Full of cocoa, coffee, nuts and caramel. Pours cola brown with ruby highlights. Quite smooth body considering. Plenty of dark sugar flavour with hints of cocoa, coffee, and toffee. Very nice bock! Reminds me of some kind of dessert...can’t remember though beerchugger (295), Colorado, USA

The flavor is sweet caramel, lightly roasted grains, some easy hop. Nice, roasted aftertaste. NosirIwont (1169), Aalborg Vestby, Denmark
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Oct 1, 2008 Bottle. Pours a clear, chestnut brown with a diminishing beige/light brown head. Sweet malt aroma with fruity notes. Slight wooden notes as it warms. Sweet malt aroma with a touch of sherry. Bitterness and alcohol lurking in the background. Finish is dry, and reveals the bitterness and the (grainy) alcohol. Faint notes of apple. Too much carbonation. Overall a bit cloying and kind of, well …meh! 01-10-08. bookman10 (88), Osseo, Minnesota, USA

But cloying sweetness brings my overall rating down. A disappointment. danielcurtis81 (890), San Diego, California, USA

AMN (127), Dublin, Pennsylvania, USA
