Commercial Description:
Birra Moretti La Rossa is a double bock beer produced using high quality 100% malted barley, giving it a rich sweet taste and an intense fragrance of roasted malt. The amber colour that characterizes the beer, comes from kind of malt used in the recipe (malt is dried, roasted barley). Another key ingredients is hops, the variety used is particularly aromatic, giving a characteristic bitter aftertaste and a delicate fragrance to the beer. The Master Brewers advise a service temperature between 10° and 12° C.

Old review from notes... Served at cellar temperature in Duvel glass. Big aroma hits me instantly! Full of cocoa, coffee, nuts and caramel. Pours cola brown with ruby highlights. Quite smooth body considering. Plenty of dark sugar flavour with hints of cocoa, coffee, and toffee. Very nice bock! Reminds me of some kind of dessert...can’t remember though

Pours dark amber color with a good thick head. Aroma is sweet and malty. The flavor involves caramel and sweet malts. A nice session beer.

Clear brown beer with a nice beige head. Caramel and butter in the nose. The flavor is sweet caramel, lightly roasted grains, some easy hop. Nice, roasted aftertaste.

Bottle. Pours a clear, chestnut brown with a diminishing beige/light brown head. Sweet malt aroma with fruity notes. Slight wooden notes as it warms. Sweet malt aroma with a touch of sherry. Bitterness and alcohol lurking in the background. Finish is dry, and reveals the bitterness and the (grainy) alcohol. Faint notes of apple. Too much carbonation. Overall a bit cloying and kind of, well …meh! 01-10-08.

Way too sweet--tastes like medicine. Nice aroma and appearance. A bit oily in the palate. But cloying sweetness brings my overall rating down. A disappointment.

Getting notebook online. Bottle. Grainy. bitter flavors. Strange aftertaste, but grows on you a bit. Decent!

Surprisingly sweet, lots of caramel and malts with a good hop aftertaste/aroma. The slightly higher alcohol is not noticeable. Better than I expected.
