Commercial Description:
Birra Moretti La Rossa is a double bock beer produced using high quality 100% malted barley, giving it a rich sweet taste and an intense fragrance of roasted malt. The amber colour that characterizes the beer, comes from kind of malt used in the recipe (malt is dried, roasted barley). Another key ingredients is hops, the variety used is particularly aromatic, giving a characteristic bitter aftertaste and a delicate fragrance to the beer. The Master Brewers advise a service temperature between 10° and 12° C.

Surprisingly sweet, lots of caramel and malts with a good hop aftertaste/aroma. The slightly higher alcohol is not noticeable. Better than I expected.

Bottle from a Copenhagen supermarket. Clear brown with a reddish tone. Malt, caramel, lots of swettenss dominates this beer. Far better then the ITalian pale lagers, but too sweet for my liking, really.

Bottle. Pours a nice, deep mahogany color with a one-inch light tan head and ample carbonation. Malty aroma, with some caramel. Sweet roasted malt flavor with a slightly bitter finish. Mouthfeel is soft, almost like there’s a touch of honey. Not bad, but a bit malty for me.

Bottle from Winking Lizard. Pour was a nice reddish brown. Aroma was wonderfully sweet and malty. Flavor was the same. Sweet malts, caramel and plums. Very sweet. Very tasty.

12 oz. bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville. Brown-tinged red with a fizzy 2-finger head. Roasted malt aroma with some dark fruits. Roasted grain taste with plum and raisin notes, with caramel and banana in the finish. Medium bodied.
