Commercial Description:
Birra Moretti La Rossa is a double bock beer produced using high quality 100% malted barley, giving it a rich sweet taste and an intense fragrance of roasted malt. The amber colour that characterizes the beer, comes from kind of malt used in the recipe (malt is dried, roasted barley). Another key ingredients is hops, the variety used is particularly aromatic, giving a characteristic bitter aftertaste and a delicate fragrance to the beer. The Master Brewers advise a service temperature between 10° and 12° C.

12 oz. bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville. Brown-tinged red with a fizzy 2-finger head. Roasted malt aroma with some dark fruits. Roasted grain taste with plum and raisin notes, with caramel and banana in the finish. Medium bodied.

Sampled from bottle, it pours a dark reddish copper colour, which carries a fairly large tan head. Aroma is of grainy alcohol, heavily roasted malts, toffee and ripe fruit. Mouthfeel is full, creamy on the palate, flavor is noticeably chocolate infused with raisins, plums and pomegranate flavors.

12oz bottle served in a Duvel tulip. Pours burnt copper in color with a creamy off-white head. Smells of biscuit and caramel. Tastes of caramel and raisins, light but firm bitterness. My first of this style and I must say that it is quite enjoyable.

Cold 12oz bottle: Pours a dark red amber color with a very little amount of off-white bubbles around the edges. Aroma is of dark malts, fruit and some caramel notes. Taste is of dark malts and fruit, well blended. Medium bodied and lightly crisp, with good carbonation. Ending is of dark malts, subtle earthy hops, and a slight alcohol burn.
