Commercial Description:
Birra Moretti La Rossa is a double bock beer produced using high quality 100% malted barley, giving it a rich sweet taste and an intense fragrance of roasted malt. The amber colour that characterizes the beer, comes from kind of malt used in the recipe (malt is dried, roasted barley). Another key ingredients is hops, the variety used is particularly aromatic, giving a characteristic bitter aftertaste and a delicate fragrance to the beer. The Master Brewers advise a service temperature between 10° and 12° C.

medium dark but clear pour. Aroma of chocolate, light alcohol, and some malt. Taste was malty with notes of caramel, chocolate, and more alcohol. Kind of a rough grainy beer. Decent. Could hide alcohol a little better.

Bottle: Poured a dark brownb with a tan to beige color head. Aroma is sweet sugars and malts. The taste follows that up with maltiness and caramel.

Had high hopes for this one, but it was undrinkable. Filtered clear body. Small, quickly diminishing foam. Aroma had hardly any character. Maybe a touch of roast. Flavor has sweet fruit notes and some caramel-like malt character. No flaws. Probably not deserving of such a low score, but I didn’t like any of its attributes and I didn’t enjoy the beer at all.

A golden copper ale with a thick creamy light moka head. A sweet caramel malt aroma, very pleasant. In mouth, a good burned caramel, malt, roasted barley, very rich in mouth. This is a very pleasant beer. Which they had this at the LCBO. Oktoberfest evening at Marc Gratton’s, tasted on April 20 2007

Bottle from Trader Joe’s in San Jose, CA. Poured a brown with a hini of amber. Tasted of carmel and sugar. Very creamy on the palate. Definately a gem of a find for only a buck.

I found this to be one of the most unpleasant beers that I have ever had. It tasted very strong of alcohol without much malt or hop flavor. Not pleasing at all.

Bottle. Pours a dark amber with a huge three finger tan head with very spotty lacing. Nose is roasted malts and light hops. Taste is malty, caramelized brown sugar, toffee, barley and alcohol. Light mouth feel. A little too sweet for my tastes, but I can appreciate this brew. Better than the other Moretti beers I’ve had.
